Apple Cider Vinegar is the fermented juice of crushed apples and has been used for many years to support the health of a variety of systems including the skin, digestive tract, immune system and more. Many horse owners value it as a natural insect control as it causes thiamine (vitamin B1) to be excreted through the skin, repelling flies and mosquitoes.
Brewer’s Yeast is a source of B complex vitamins, trace minerals and is believed to discourage biting insects by causing an offensive skin odor. Brewer’s yeast is also a common name for a specific strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae which supports healthy fiber digestion (feed efficiency) and supports a healthy immune response.
Diatomaceous Earth is a whitish powder made up of the fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of prehistoric, hard-shelled algae. Some owners feed diatomaceous earth to their horses to help control internal parasites and reduce fly loads, since the sharp edges are said to penetrate the outer covering of worms and insects, causing dehydration and death.
DL-Methionine is an amino acid that must be provided in the diet since the body cannot create enough of its own. This means if it is not present in adequate amounts it limits the body's ability to make protein. Methionine can be converted by the body into another sulfur-containing amino acid, cysteine. Because the concentration of both these amino acids is highest in hoof and hair, methionine is often included in hoof health supplements.
Garlic is one of the most widely used herbs in the world, dating back thousands of years and liked by horse owners to help deter biting insects.
MSM: (Methylsulfonylmethane) Assists body to produce its own internal antioxidants which helps support natural inflammatory response by providing protection against oxidative stress. It is a great source of sulfur, which plays an important role in maintaining the health of collagen, cartilage, hooves, hair and joint fluid.
N-Acetyl L-Cysteine: NAC helps replenish glutathione levels, supporting a healthy inflammatory response in lung and bronchial tissue.
Thiamine (Vitamin B1) plays a role in supporting carbohydrate metabolism and normal muscle and nerve function. Thiamine supplementation has been shown to have a calming effect in horses displaying anxious/nervous behavior as a result thiamine deficiency and/or increased requirements.
When should you start feeding the Flies-A-Way supplement?
MVP: Flies-A-Way works best if you can start feeding 4-6 weeks before the fly/Insect season starts. Best results experienced when you can feed all horses on property.
How does the Flies-A-Way compare to other feed through fly control supplements?
MVP: Flies-A-Way is a chemical free fly control supplement. Also includes MSM, garlic and Apple cider vinegar which work from within to help repel insects.

I have seen how this product works so well. I had my mare started on flies-away in April, to keep the bugs off. I got a new horse in June, when she showed up she would have flies on her and my first mare didn't. Started the second on it right away. I also see a difference when I go to other barns close by and see how bad the flies are there. Will definitely use this product every spring!
The flies have been horrible this year horse flies included. Fly spraying the horses everyday just is not something feasible it did not take long for this supplement to work and the flies have been so much better. I highly recommend this product.
This product actually works and is amazing! I have recently started using it and have already noticed a difference. The horses used to be covered in flies and now I don’t even have to fly spray them. I would highly recommend this product!
Safe to use with fly predators and works better than anything else I’ve tried for my horses and cow; barely use fly spray now!
Folks, this stuff WORKS! I can?t believe the difference in my barn and on my horses! Yes, it stinks and I understand why they use the foil bag but I I?m so happy with the results. I actually have a horse that is allergic to fly bites! I will never use another product. Good job y?all !
Love this stuff! No more welts from Mosquitoes or Deer Flies.
I have my horse on exceed 6 way and also Levelor, last year I started him on Flies Away and my roommates horse was started on garlic and ACV she had purchased separately and gave to her horses as a dressing, not only did my horse have less flies than anyone else, he did not get itchy in the spring which is usual for my sensitive thoroughbred. I just cannot say enough about the quality of MVP products, and as a licensed Vet Tech employed at Cornell, it takes a lot to impress me. It did take my horse a few feedings to get past the smell, as it has a strong odor and his feed is wet from the beet pulp, but I have him outside so it was either he ate it or he went without...he had a change of heart witin 3 feedings, and never turned up his nose again.
This product works well and is palatable to the horses. I did not have any trouble getting them to eat the supplement, even though it does have a strong garlicky scent. I saw a reduction in flies around the premises and I am not having to to fly spray the horses as much. It also was effective for my donkeys. They no longer have flies bothering them and I do not have to fly spray them at all.
