Raspberry Leaf is an herb primarily used to help maintain normal hormone levels in mares. Helps support smooth muscle tone/function in the reproductive and GI tracts which may help minimize moody behavior in mares and help to support comfort.

Taurine is an amino acid found in high concentrations in electrically active tissues such as the brain, heart, retina and muscle. It stabilizes membranes and assists in the movement of electrolytes in and out of cells, which is critical for proper nervous system and muscle health. Taurine is necessary for the absorption of fats and vitamins and helps support normal insulin and glucose levels. It can be found in supplements for growing horses, nervous horses and horses with metabolic issues.

Magnesium (Mg) is a macro mineral that is frequently recommended for a wide range of equine health conditions. Magnesium helps to maintain normal muscle and nerve function, a healthy heart, healthy immune system and strong bones. Magnesium aids to regulate blood sugar levels, promotes normal blood pressure, and known to be involved in energy metabolism and protein synthesis. Since a symptom of magnesium deficiency is agitation or anxiety, it is included in many calming supplements.

Dong Quai an herb that has been used for more than a thousand years, coined as 'female ginseng' it helps promote a normal/healthy cycle in mares.

Chasteberry has been used for centuries to help maintain a balanced hormonal system in both females and males.

Is Levelor only for mares?

MVP:  Thank you for your question!  No, geldings can also benefit from Levelor by providing support for anxious and nervous behavior.

I have a mini mare who weights around 300lbs. A few other supplements I’ve been told to give half the horse sized dose and wondering if I should be giving her a full scoop or a half?

MVP: We would recommend using a half serving of Levelor for your miniature horse.

How does levelor compare to mare magic? I feed my mare mare magic now, once scoop once daily, she seems better but still a little flighty.

MVP: Mare Magic contains only pure raspberry leaf, while Levelor™ provides raspberry leaf plus additional ingredients such as taurine, magnesium, and chasteberry extract for more comprehensive support.

Does the supplement Levelor make a horse drowsy and/or lethargic?

MVP:  No, the supplement is formulated to aide in easing a horse's anxious and nervous behavior.  It supports a quiet disposition.

    Super impressed

I can't say enough good things about Levelor. My super reactive mare does so good on this. I give her 1 scoop before a trail ride, trailering, ect and she calms down instead of being super reactive. I just bought another bag and will continue to use in times of stress for all my horses.

I love this product. I have used it on mares and geldings. It is the best I've found and the difference is noticeable in 3 to 4 days. Horses with anxiety during eating will calm down and eat. They are less aggressive and less reactive. It's a great name for this product because it literally levels a horse out so it can eat, perform and relax a bit. Does not take the edge off of them either. Seems to increase focus because the anxiety is minimized. I've used several of these products and this one is wonderful.

I started my gelding on levelor after having vet recommended a supplement for his adrenhal health. He received the two weeks of a loading dose and is now on a scoop a day. I noticed a huge difference just after the first week. He is no longer going after my mare in pasture, he is much more pleasant to be around, and has started to love being groomed. I am so happy with this product and would reccomend anyone thinking about it for a hormonal gelding to try it.

I purchased levelor to try on my 4 yr old gelding. He was not gelded and untouched until after he was 3. He was reactive and had stud like tendencies. We started him on levelor at the recommended double does for 2 weeks. His behavior was night and day within one week! I would definitely recommend this product for hormonal issues to calm a horse.

    Noticed a significant improvement

Posted by Kristi on 27th Feb 2017

I started my gelding on this supplement and I have noticed a significant improvement in his disposition. I believe he is just more comfortable with life. I have tried other calming supplements that include tryptophan and after some research I discovered that tryptophan does not even cross the blood brain barrier....no wonder it did not work. I have had him on Exceed 6-way, and also flies away, so I decided to give MVP another try, and I am glad I did.
