My reiner was experiencing a really tight back. Even though she was already on a selenium product, my vet recommended putting her on e-se mag. I added it to her feed and made it really made a big difference in relaxing those tight back muscles. Very please with the result and now have a much happier horse.

E-SE-MAG™ provides targeted ingredients: Vitamin E, Selenium and Magnesium to support efficient muscle function and manage muscle discomfort associated with exercise. Supporting muscle health is essential to power peak performance and encourage normal recovery after exercise. Determine total selenium content in ration prior to supplementation. Pellets.
Magnesium (Mg) is a macro mineral that is frequently recommended for a wide range of equine health conditions. Magnesium helps to maintain normal muscle and nerve function, a healthy heart, healthy immune system and strong bones. Magnesium aids to regulate blood sugar levels, promotes normal blood pressure, and known to be involved in energy metabolism and protein synthesis. Since a symptom of magnesium deficiency is agitation or anxiety, it is included in many calming supplements.
Vitamin E is considered the most important antioxidant and works closely with selenium to protect the body from the oxidative stress of exercise and illness. Found in high amounts in fresh pasture, levels begin to decay the moment pasture is cut for hay. That is why any horse that does not have access to grass, regardless of its activity level or health, would be a candidate for vitamin E supplementation. Horses are not very efficient in storing vitamin E and deficiency may be accelerated if the diet is deficient in selenium.
Selenium is a trace mineral that along with vitamin E function together to help to protect body tissues from free radical damage that occurs during oxidation (the conversion of feedstuffs into energy). While some parts of the country have high levels of selenium in their soil and therefore the plants that grow there, selenium deficiency is not uncommon and reported in many states. Therefore, most horses may require supplementation to meet the NRC requirement of 1-3 mg/day, depending on activity level. *NRC upper safe limit approx. 20 mg/day in total diet.
Does this contain Magnesium Citrate?
MVP: E-Se-Mag Pellets do not provide Magnesium Citrate, it uses Magnesium Proteinate and Magnesium Oxide since that is considered to be the most bioavailable form of magnesium in horses.
Can you tell me if the source of Vitamin E is natural or synthetic?
MVP: E-Se-Mag Pellets contain the synthetic form of vitamin E, which means that it is supplied in two forms, d and l.
contains the first unique combination of high levels of Vitamin E, selenium and magnesium. This blend of ingredients may help to support efficient muscle function and manage muscle discomfort associated with exercise. Determine total selenium content in ration prior to supplementation.
After my veterinarian recommended that I add more selenium to my horses daily diet I started them on E-SE-MAG. After just a short while (1 month) I have seen a difference in the ’’drive’’ they have on the hills and trails we ride. They are also starting to get better muscle in the hind end. It has been a great addition to the Mega-Mag that they already take to go with the hay that we get in the area we live in.
This was recommended to my animals because of mood problems. They were (still are) very attached to the herd and hate to go out alone. My trainer recommended the magnesium to help stabilize them. The selenium they need anyway so I purchased this. They’ve been taking this a year and I’m pleased with the results! Animals are healthy and I think they are happier too.
E-SE-MAG is a great product! Have only been feeding this supplement a short time but have noticed a huge difference in my very bulky gelding with his smooth movement and calmness. Love this product!
